First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. Now, for the third year in a row, you can take advantage of Small Business Saturday.
This year?s Small Business Saturday is November 24; and lots of towns across Central Ohio are taking part.
NBC4?s Robyn Haines took a trip to Worthington to see how they're planning to draw in the crowds.
Seventy-two percent of the businesses in Worthington are considered small; but to the city itself, they do big things.
That's why the focus on Small Business Saturday is so apparent to Joe Davis, the co-owner of Worthington Jewelers.
"We?re a neighborhood jeweler; we remember that, we reflect it,? says Davis. ?Most of the people who come in are my neighbors, my friends."
So they have a plan for Saturday to make sure those neighbors get more bang for their buck.
"We decided if American Express was going to invest in small business, we were going to match what they offer. If you spend at least $100, they'll give you $25 back."
They're also stocked up with deals on diamond studs, for all the men who might need a sure winner this Christmas.
Mode Alise is also joining the "shop local" movement. The women's clothing store is in the ?Shops at Worthington Place.?
Owner Alise Ghanen also plans on matching the funds given by American Express- twice.
"It?s a gift certificate for $25 to use the same day, and another one to use in a week.?
So while the Saturday after Thanksgiving is all about the small business, they are making sure it's all about their customers, and want everyone to remember the impact they can have by shopping close to home.
